Dennis Schroder Responds to $84 Million Contract Mistake

Dennis Schroder made the biggest mistake in his NBA career. The Los Angeles Lakers made a really big offer and gave him $84 million. Well, the NBA veteran decided to take his talent somewhere else. He thought that other teams would have offered $100 million or more… What happened next? Things didn’t go the way he planned and Schroder didn’t get the offer he hoped for. The Boston Celtics were the only team to make an offer and it was somewhat decent.

Instead of $84 million, Schroder will get $6 million. He joined the Boston Celtics and agreed to take their “lunch money.” That’s what some analysts said. The Lakers didn’t make a multi-year offer for Schroder. They gave him a tiny deal and he may not stick around for many years. It’s a one-year deal and believe it or not, Schroder is fine with it. He seems to be pretty confident about this fresh start.

Dennis Schroder doesn’t see this as a mistake

The former Laker took to his Instagram to share a photo of him, two rides, and bunch of bags.

“I’m gonna do this ONE time! Insert your best ‘fumbled the bag’ joke here.’ It’s my birthday so let’s get this over with and get back to business! Like (J. Cole) said, ‘Some [n-word] make millions, other [n-word] make memes.”

Schroder struggled to make an impact with the Lakers and things got even worse in the playoffs. There were many reports about Schroder’s beef with Kyle Kuzma. Both players denied it, but people can’t stop talking.

It’s interesting to note that the German native turned down an offer from a championship contender. The Celtics don’t look too good at the moment. The Lakers didn’t try too hard to keep him on the roster. Well, they weren’t really happy about his performance in the series against Phoenix. LA was eliminated by the series and a lot of people pointed their fingers at Schroder.

The Lakers packed their roster with veteran power. They traded for Russell Westbrook and got Carmelo Anthony, DeAndre Jordan, and a few other great players. Some of these guys are looking forward to winning their first ring.
