The Los Angeles Lakers had a really big reason to pull out the Russell Westbrook trade. They shipped Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwel-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and two second-round picks to the Washington Wizards. Russell was one of the best options for the Lakers in the offseason and they did their best to get him. The talented veteran will be of great help for the team. He is joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis in their quest for a title. The Lakers have their own Big 3, and the trip looks really dominant on the floor. Nothing will stop the purple and gold now.
If you ask head coach Frank Vogel about the reasons they had to sign Westbrook, he will give you a good one.
“Well, the biggest thing is that I no longer have to be afraid to play him (laughs). That’s the No. 1 thing. I’m excited to have him on my side… He’s just the ultimate competitor. He’s going to do whatever it takes to win basketball games, and I’m happy to have that on my side,” Vogel told Nick Hamilton of Nitecast Media.
Lakers had a good reason to get Russell Westbrook through a trade
This is absolutely correct. The Lakers did an incredible job in the offseason and Russ is the perfect fit for the team. They needed a third superstar behind their powerful duo. Russ came in like the best shot. Vogel will no longer worry about the Western Conference.
LA is entering a tight conference filled with great competitors. The Golden State Warriors will look much better next season and LA needs to get ready for that. Oh wait, they are ready for this.
The Lakers didn’t stop with the addition of Westbrook. They also added DeAndre Jordan and a few valuable veterans. Carmelo Anthony will do his best to get that championship ring. Westbrook will have the same motivation. LA is ready for a win and LeBron couldn’t be happier! The four-time NBA champion knows his new teammates really well. The 2021-22 Lakers team looks much better than any other squad in the NBA. I guess other NBA teams have no chances against Russ’ new team.
When it comes to Russ, he has great expectations from the Lakers. He was watching the purple and gold win games with minimum record. He also watched Dwight Howard do his thing with ease. Russ is probably the most exciting Lakers player to work with right now.
