Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Drops Truth Bomb on LeBron James Scoring Record Chase
NBA icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar holds an excellent scoring record. A lot of players have tried to break it but things didn’t go too easy for them. Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is pretty close to breaking Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record. He is 3,020 points behind the NBA legend on the all-time scoring list.
“I’m excited to see it happen,” Abdul-Jabbar said in his interview with veteran NBA reporter Marc Stein. “I don’t see records as personal accomplishments, but more as human achievements. If one person can do something that’s never been done, that means we all have a shot at doing it. It’s a source of hope and inspiration. Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile back in 1954. Since then, not only have 1,400 runners beaten that time, but the new record is 17 seconds less. We all win when a record is broken and if LeBron breaks mine, I will be right there to cheer him on.”
If @KingJames breaks Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's NBA scoring record, Kareem tells me he "will be right there to cheer him on."

LeBron James to break the scoring record
The good news? LeBron can break this record at some point in the 2022-23 NBA season. We have at least one good reason to believe that the kid from Akron will accomplish this incredible goal.
Abdul-Jabbar is one of the best basketball players of all time. He has 19 All-Star nods, six MVP honors, and six NBA titles. Great Abdul-Jabbar finished his NBA career averaging 24.6 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He has 38,387 career points, and the Laker has 35,367 points. Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan are the other players to score this many points in a single regular season. King James hit 2,478 points in his 2005-06 season with Cleveland Cavaliers.
LeBron won’t pass Abdul-Jabbar this season. He has to stay healthy to accomplish this feat.
King James hasn’t averaged less than 25 points per game since his rookie campaign. He has a good chance to pass the legend in two seasons. We can’t wait for this to happen and LeBron is definitely motivated. He is entering another excellent season with the Lakers. It’s showtime!
