Lakers’ Russell Westbrook Under Fire Following Latest Controversial Post

The Los Angeles Lakers brought Russell Westbrook to town and the talented player has already pulled out his first controversial move. Sort of.

Russ shared a few pics of him wearing a skirt and cardigan. Yes, you read it right. He feels super comfortable while wearing a skirt? What’s the first thing that popped in your mind?

Well, this attire attracted the attention of pretty much everyone related to the game. Some were pretty excited to see Westbrook’s bold side. Others were pretty disturbed. The comment section was flooded with words of praise… and hate.

Russell Westbrook ignores comments on his controversial outfit

His caption was pretty strict. It read, “Don’t address me unless it four letters.”

What did people say to this?

“Laker Nation. Can we trade [Westbrook] for [Damian Lillard]? We don’t need this type of energy on the team,” one commenter wrote.

Others were more friendly and supportive. Russ has a huge fanbase and he was born and raised in Los Angeles. People really like him and this fashionable outfit is a pleasant surprise for his loyal fans.

“Man, it’s 2021, Russ more comfortable in his skin, with his personality and soul than 90% of Twitter. No hate here, good for you Russ, be yourself and enjoy life.”

“Just a reminder that Russell Westbrook will beat yo a– whilst wearing said attire.”

Russ doesn’t mind any of this. He is getting ready for his new season. He will soon have his first game as a Laker and that’s the only topic on the table at the moment.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel would love to see more from his newly-signed veteran. At least he doesn’t have to coach against Russ this time.

“Well, the biggest thing is that I no longer have to be afraid to play him,” the Lakers skipper told Nick Hamilton of Nitecast Media. That’s the No. 1 thing. I’m excited to have him on my side… He’s just the ultimate competitor. He’s going to do whatever it takes to win basketball games, and I’m happy to have that on my side.”
