LeBron James Shows Off His New Jersey Number

The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the season with a new roster and fresh uniforms. The team confirmed the deal with its new sponsor for the jersey patches, Bibigo, and it’s a multi-year deal. LeBron James was more than happy to show off his new jersey and yes, we also get to see him wearing his new number.

LeBron has made some changes to his jersey numbers in his long NBA career. He wore the No. 23 jersey in the first three seasons with the Lakers. The four-time NBA champion was willing to give up on his jersey number right after the Lakers got Anthony Davis through a trade. LeBron even shared a photo of him gifting AD a No.23 jersey. His deal with Nike was a big obstacle. The world was dealing with a deadly virus last year so switching numbers wasn’t that easy.

LeBron will win a lot of games with his new jersey number

Well, these two can now switch numbers. It’s official. LeBron will be wearing No.6, the jersey he had in Space Jam: A New Legacy. He also had this jersey number during his time with Dwyane Wade in Miami.

The timing is ideal. AD wore No.23 in college at Kentucky and also had it in his first six seasons in the NBA. He can wear No.23 in his third season with the Lakers. Guess what… The big man is staying with No.3. Shams Charania from The Athletic was among the first to confirm the information.

AD has plenty of time to change his mind and go back to No.23. Several sources have revealed that he won’t change his number because he won his first ring with the Lakers wearing his No.3. Ritual? Tradition? Maybe this is his lucky number.

LeBron is going back to his lucky number, too. He won back-to-back titles with the Heat and he was definitely a beast back then. It is not like he is not a beast now. LeBron is still the best basketball player in the NBA. He will have another big season with his purple and gold.
