Los Angeles Lakers Fan Sues LAPD Cop ‘You Shot Me In the Head W/ A Rubber Bullet…’

Someone is in a big trouble right now. Championship celebrations can sometimes get out of control and that’s exactly what happened last year. The Los Angeles Lakers won the title in the 2019-20 NBA season. It was a long season and the COVID-19 pandemic made everything worse. Players had to go inside the bubble in Orlando to finish the season and LA players came out as champions. It was a good win and Lakers fans decided to celebrate it despite the situation. One Lakers fan got into a thing with the police, and now she sues the LAPD. Tricky, right?

Kimberly Marroquin filed a civil lawsuit Thursday in the state of California. She filed the lawsuit after almost a year and this may make things a little harder for her.

In her lawsuit, Marroquin wrote that she was peacefully celebrating the win last year when one of the police officers shot her in the head with a rubber bullet. It was a painful hit and Marroquin wants the police officer to pay for what they did. The fan added that the cop shot her on October 11, 2020 around 9:15 PM.

“Without warning or provocation”, the suit reads, the officer “shot [Marroquin] in the head with a less lethal rubber projectile round.”

Marroquin didn’t forget to mention that she wasn’t carrying any weapons. The police officer shot her despite the fact that she wasn’t considered a threat at that point. She is now trying to find the officer who hurt her that night. Someone was in charge for the area of celebration and Marroquin needs answers. Are there any witnesses in this case? Marroquin believes she can win this case.

The fan wrote that she had “suffered severe pain and suffering, mental anguish, humiliation, and emotional distress, and incurred economic losses.” Of course, she had to pay a lot of money to treat her head and the medical bills were pretty had.

Marroquin accuses the police department for improperly training their cops. She doesn’t like the fact that the unnamed police officer went unpunished for what they did, so she added this to the lawsuit as well.

This lawsuit will come like a shock right now and Marroquin wants the police to pay for her physical and mental damage.
