NBA Executives Sparks Wild Trade Rumors of All-Star Going to Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers pulled out a few trade moves in the offseason, and there are several rumors about the next Lakers target. The franchise has shown interest in several superstars, and yes, some of them really put on a Lakers uniform. One Western Conference exec decided to stir things up.
According to this person, Ben Simmons considers joining one of “three California teams.”
“Think about three months ago when the Sixers are willing to give up Ben Simmons,” the NBA executive noted. “You are like, ‘Let’s see what we have to do to get him.’ Now, the difference is Ben Simmons says he refuses to play for the Sixers. He wants to go to three California teams. There’s so much bad blood between him and the team.”
These comments triggered an avalanche of comments on social media. Fans started dreaming of seeing Simmons in Los Angeles. Which Lakers team has the best chance to get him? The Lakers? Clippers? What about the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings? There are several major options for the veteran at the moment.
Lakers trade rumors won’t stop here
Simmons works with Klutch Sports. We all know what that means. Getting him won’t be that easy and the Lakers will have to trade Anthony Davis. AD is represented by the same agency.
Reports suggest that Simmons may not join his teammates in training camp. He really wants out.
Ryen Russillo and Bill Simmons discussed his situation on The Ryen Russillo Podcast. They can’t see him wear purple and gold.
“Look, Ben Simmons wants to be in L.A., it’s not happening,” the analyst said. “The Lakers’ to-do list has been completed.”
LeBron is really close with Simmons. He even made him his second pick for the All-Star game. They ended up winning the game and LeBron may try to bring some of this fire to Los Angeles.
“With my second pick in the second round, I’m gonna go with Ben Simmons,” he said in March. “Mr. Play hard every possession from the Philadelphia 76ers.”
The Lakers really like their current roster at the moment. We believe Rob Pelinka won’t make any big moves in the next few weeks.
