Patriots Rule Out Two Players For Week 2 Jets Matchup

The New England Patriots have released the final injury report heading into their game against the New York Jets. The team lost the season opener to Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins. It was a good game, but one Patriots starter sustained an injury and missed three quarters of the game. Trent Brown suffered a calf injury early in the first quarter and he didn’t return to the field. He missed practice time but joined the Patriots Friday. The right tackle may suit up for Sunday’s game, but we can’t say the same for two other players. The Patriots will be without Quinn Nordin and Kyle Van Noy in the Jets matchup.

This is another important game for head coach Bill Belichick and his team. The Patriots had a few players on the injury report and some of them were ruled questionable. Brown is back, but Van Noy and Nordin didn’t join their teammates for the practice.

Patriots need healthy people for their Jets matchup

The kicker is dealing with abdomen issue and he won’t return until November. This leaves a huge opportunity for veteran kicker Nick Folk. The Patriots elevated him from the practice unit and he was amazing in the season opener. Folk made his way back to the practice squad, but he may return to the 53-man roster sooner than expected.

The Patriots need a reliable kicker in the regular season. Nordin is a talented player but he will miss a lot of time.

When it comes to Van Noy, he is dealing with throat issue. The Patriots didn’t reveal much about his ailment, but we do know that he will be out Sunday. Josh Uche and Chase Winovich will probably step in as a replacement for the veteran.

Van Noy joined the Patriots for a reason. He spent an entire season with another team, but he worked really wanted to join his former team. The Patriots are happy to have him but he needs to be 100% to help them win games. We do hope that Nordin and Van Noy will recover on time.
