Rajon Rondo Gives Brutally Honest Answer On His Beef With Russell Westbrook

Rajon Rondo will have to forget his beef with Russell Westbrook as these two will have to play on the same team in 2021-22. Things have taken an interesting take for both players and their paths have crossed once again. They first time they crossed last season.

It wasn’t a friendly encounter though. Rondo’s Atlanta Hawks played against Westbrook and his team. The latter was ejected for picking up his technical foul. And now they have to play together. Hilarious, right? Rondo is fine with this. He is looking forward to playing with his former team and the new guys who have just joined the franchise.

Rajon Rondo forgot his beef with Russell Westbrook

One of the questions Rondo received right after re-signing with the Lakers was about the teammates he is mostly excited to play with.

“Carmelo,” he said. “Obviously, Russ, Trev (Ariza). I look forward to talking to Trev, learning his mind, his focus. … We’ve had a lot of great battles with a lot of these guys that’s now teammates. I’m looking forward to putting everything in the past and putting it together for the greater good of the team and winning a championship here.”

We all know what that means. Westbrook will have to get over the “goodbye” he got from his new teammates. Well, hey, NBA players deal with similar situations throughout every season in the league. It’s part of the game.

Westbrook joined the Lakers as a third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. AD is entering another challenging season, and hopefully he will be able to stay healthy. Rondo’s arrival in LA was more like a ray of hope for the big man. Davis prefers playing with him instead of Dennis Schroder. There was enough room for Rondo on the Lakers roster, and Rob Pelinka did his best to bring him back.

Rondo’s leadership was heavily missed this past season. He was a respected player in the locker room. LeBron is getting an extra pair of hands with this signing. He is glad to have Rondo back in the fold.
