Report: Former Patriots LB Linked to Potential Return to New England

The New England Patriots made multiple changes on the roster, and experts believe that head coach Bill Belichick is on to pulling another major move. The team has been linked to several players, and a talented linebacker. Former Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins may be making plans about his potential return to the team.

I guess veterans always find their way back to New England. There’s something special about the team and the way coach B handles the regular season. Collins knows it best as he has already been part of the system.

Collis is now playing with the Detroit Lions, but the team is trying to ship him somewhere else.

Lions coach Dan Campbell didn’t reveal much about Collins’ situation. He did mention that the team has several suitors for the veteran linebacker.

The former Patriots LB looks forward to potential return despite other options

The 31-year-old had 10 combined tackles with one tackle for a loss and one forced fumble so far in the regular season. Detroit is trying to build a younger defense and their rebuilding process won’t end here. General manager Brad Holmes and head coach Campbell are open to great changes.

New England is one of the best landing spots for the veteran. Collins spent the first three seasons with the Patriots and they sent him to the Cleveland Browns. The veteran found his way back after the Patriots released him in 2019. He didn’t get much chance as the Patriots had a packed linebackers unit. However, he did become a rotational player with Dont’a Hightower and Jerod Mayo.

There are five other options for the former Patriots linebacker, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, and New York Giants.

The Rams have built an excellent defense and Collins seems to be the final piece of the puzzle. LA could use a veteran like Collins to keep the young core moving.

Will Belichick give up on one of his great linebackers?

People are already excited about his return!
