Skip Bayless Comments on Mac Jones Take Suggests He Didn’t Even Watch Patriots-Dolphins

Is Skip Bayless a fan of Mac Jones? The rookie quarterback didn’t led the New England Patriots to a win last night. The team lost the chance to win the season opener against the Miami Dolphins. Patriots players finished the game with a 16-17 loss. So, how will Bayless describe Jones’ game?

The NFL analyst took to Twitter to discourage Jones. According to Bayless, Cam Newton would have won the game.

“Man, if Belichick can’t beat TUA in the home opener, he’s got problems,” he tweeted after the Patriots loss. “I predicted he’d go with Mac Jones and cut Cam — Mac is more Belichick’s style. But I believe Cam would’ve scored more than 16 today, won this game.”

Fans don’t agree with Skip Bayless on his take on Mac Jones

Jones earned some praise from NFL fans. He completed 29 of 39 passes for 281 yards and threw his first touchdown pass in his long career. Most Patriots fans believe that Jones is the right quarterback to replace Tom Brady. The Patriots cut Newton right before the regular season. Many thought he’d start games in 2021. However, Belichick had something else on his mind. The Patriots head coach really wanted to play Jones. The first-rounder was incredible in the preseason and Belichick decided to give him a chance.

Bayless is one of the worst critics players will ever get. But, his words don’t mean a thing, Jones was good last night and Belichick said his rookie tried really hard. He did mention that the Patriots didn’t try enough to win the game. Everyone tried, but it wasn’t enough. That’s how Belichick described the night.

New England entered the 2021 season with a loss. It’s too soon to draw a conclusion. Fans wouldn’t give up on Jones at this point. He has a lot to offer and he did a decent job in his debut as a Patriot.
