Watch: Carmelo Anthony Getting Buckets In LA Lakers Uniform For The First Time

NBA fans finally got to see Carmelo Anthony in a Lakers uniform. The Los Angeles Lakers got the veteran in the offseason, hoping to boost the roster. General Manager Rob Pelinka brought plenty of veteran experience to LA. The team struggled to make an impact in the 2020-21 NBA season and Pelinka won’t go through the same failure again.

Carmelo Anthony to win games in Lakers uniform

LeBron James has long tried to bring Melo to town. He wanted to get the veteran to play with the Lakers in his first season with the team. However, the front office had different plans and signed other players.

Melo and LeBron entered the NBA at the same moment, but their careers are so different at this point. We all know that Melo has yet to win his first ring. He has been around for two decades but his teams didn’t have much in the postseason. The Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks looked good at one point, but players didn’t get a chance to get any near the trophy. Melo had two long stints with the teams and he had his best game in that part of his career.

His performance saw a decline over the years and Melo had to take a minor role with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Blazers, mostly coming off the bench.

Joining the Lakers feels much different now and Melo has a chance to do something great. He will share the court with LeBron and Anthony Davis. The mighty duo led the team to a title inside the Orlando bubble, and this time they will play with strong reinforcement. Russell Westbrook will be the third option because LBJ and Davis.

Melo’s stats would fit perfectly inside Frank Vogel’s scheme. The Lakers head coach has great plans for his team and he has a challenge for each and every player. How much time will he get on the floor? The Blazers played him at an average of 24.5 last season. He will probably get a similar role in LA next season. The best part? Fans are excited about his three-point shooting.
