Watch: James White, Mac Jones, Jonnu Smith Combine For First Patriots Trick Play This Season

The New England Patriots look really good in Week 2 of the regular season. They met the New York Jets and this road game is ending with a big W for head coach Bill Belichick and his team. NFL experts enjoyed the game, but one particular thing caught everyone’s attention. Patriots players joined forces for a trick play and this helped them confuse the opponent. New York was on fire and this is just the beginning of a new era.

In the first quarter of the game, rookie quarterback Mac Jones joined forces with tight end Jonnu Smith and running back James White. It was pretty successful and Patriots fans enjoyed every bit of this. White collected a pass and sent the ball flying to Jones. Smith finished it with a 19-yarder. The Patriots decided to trust the rookie and I guess this was one of the best decisions Belichick has ever made.

Patriots players to win a lot of games with their trick play

Jones was brilliant in training camp and he actually won the quarterback battle against Cam Newton. The 2015 NFL MVP improved a lot but the Patriots didn’t keep him around even as a backup for Jones. The rookie enters the season with Brian Hoyer watching his back. This play showed us that the Patriots are capable of a lot of great things on the field.

NFL experts made a few bold predictions and pretty much everyone agreed that Belichick’s team would win this one. New England lost the season opener to the Miami Dolphins and players made a lot of mistakes. It was a tough battle, and Miami came on top last Sunday.

This loss motivated Patriots players to work on their game and fix the damage. Everyone had to try harder and that’s exactly what they did tonight.

We really hope that Belichick will be happy with his team. He spent a lot of money in the offseason and getting Smith was a big one. The star tight end is playing with the Patriots to get his ring and everyone has high expectations from him.
