Bill Belichick Admits 1 Player Makes Him Feel “Old”

Many would say that New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is old. Well, he may be 69, but his coaching skills are sharper than ever. Belichick is more successful than any other head coach in the league. He is doing a wonderful job and most coaches can’t even copy his style. Belichick has a special way of doing things and this makes him even more successful.

Enter the Los Angeles Chargers. Belichick and his players will meet the Chargers on Sunday. In his press conference, Belichick said he feels really old thanks to Chargers rookie Asante Samuel Jr. Wonder why? Belichick coached Samuel’s father during his stint with the Patriots. Now he will see his team go against Samuel’s son.

The Patriots have a good record at this point of the regular season. They will have to beat the Chargers and use their great talent to make the big game. Belichick didn’t win the Super Bowl last season, and he is ready to take a different approach this time. That’s exactly what he did this time. He decided to trust his rookie.

Bill Belichick is winning games despite being old

Well, Asante Samuel said Belichick was “just another coach.” Will he ever change his mind? Maybe. Belichick will have to win a championship without Brady to make this happen.

“He hasn’t shown that he is a great coach — to me — because he had the greatest player of all time,” Samuel said during an appearance on ESPN’s “First Take.”

“Tom Brady has already shown that he can win wherever he goes,” he said. “Through adversity, through a pandemic, getting kicked off fields, barely having any practice, I didn’t expect him to win the Super Bowl and he won the Super Bowl. Now, what I’m saying is, anyone can coach Tom and win a Super Bowl. Now, [Belichick] will have to show — in my eyes  — in order to be great in my opinion, you have to show you can do that without that person.”

The win over the New York Jets brings the Patriots closer to the Super Bowl. We all know what that means.
