Bill Belichick’s Former Player Surprisingly Credits the New England Patriots for His 2021 Breakout Campaign

A former Bill Belichick player has surprisingly credited the New England Patriots for his 2021 breakout year. The Patriots will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys soon and it is a huge confidence game for the team that has struggled in recent games. Mac Jones has been growing as a QB and a leader of the team. But it will take more time for him to get to the place that he needs to be as the leader of the Patriots.

Surprisingly, through all of this, a story has caught the attention of some. A former player has actually credited Belichick for helping him grow as a player.

Cordarrelle Patterson has said some good things about his former coach.

“That really taught me the way to practice and compete and all that stuff,” Patterson said in an interview with Pro Football Focus. “When you go over there, it’s like ‘hey, we’re trying to win. We’re going to win each and every week.’ That’s their mindset over there.”

Darelle Revis also said some things.

“When you play with the New England Patriots, it’s a lot of pressure every time you walk in the door,” said Revis. “It’s a lot of tension…It’s the unknown. You don’t know what Mr. Kraft’s doing, and you don’t know what Bill’s doing.”

“That’s not my guy,” said Revis of his former coach.

Belichick, for what it is worth, has been having some good comments on his players.

“Mac gave it to us all day,” noted Belichick. “He moved the ball. I thought he made a lot of good decisions. There were some checks that he had to make that he made throughout the day.”

“Mac’s been good for us all year in terms of his leadership, his resilience, and kind of counting on him to do the right thing,” added Belichick. “He really does it at a high level, so it’s been impressive.”

“Got to give a lot of credit to Josh [McDaniels], offensive coaches, offensive line,” said Belichick. “Those guys did a really good job of hanging in there. I thought they really went about the challenge this week of replacing some good players in that group. I thought they played hard. We got some runs to balance off the game there.”
