Carmelo Anthony Gets Honest on Retirement Ahead of Lakers Opener

Carmelo Anthony has gotten more honest on his looming retirement ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers opener. The Lakers are set to take on the Golden State Warriors. They have not looked very good at all in the preseason. The team failed to even win a game in 6 tries. This has caught the attention of some people who think it is a sign for what’s to come. But most people agree that these games shouldn’t matter in the long run.

Now that the season is about to start, however, Carmelo has come out with some interesting things to say about his retirement and it might not be what is expected.

Carmelo is a long time veteran of the NBA. We will have to wait and see how much longer he can last. He also came out and talked about his role on this Lakers team.

“I think by the time Game 1 is here, we will know, like I will know, everybody will know kind of what their situation is, what their role is. Right now, we just play. I don’t know. But I know what I have to do. I don’t know whether I’m starting or coming off the bench, but I know what I have to do.”

“You just got to be ready for when they call your number, you got to be ready. But for me, it’s kind of hard to think about that at this point.”

“I don’t know exactly what teams, but if you just look at the course of an NBA season and the teams that have won championships, unless you were the Warriors when they were [73-9], everybody had to figure it out,” he said.

“I think we’ll figure it out much quicker than people giving us credit for, but that’s on us, that’s something that we take that challenge, that’s something we know, something we talk about even though it’s preseason and we lost some games.”

The Lakers season is set to start tomorrow against the Warriors. Will they be ready for the challenge?
