Dwight Howard Breaks Silence on Outburst vs Anthony Davis

Dwight Howard has broken his silence on the outburst that happened between him and Anthony Davis. The Lakers season is not off to a very good start. They are looking much like they did in the preseason, pretty lackluster. Something needs to be fixed and it needs to be fixed quickly before it is too late. And after last night’s embarrassment, it is not looking too promising.

It is not so much that it was a bad loss. It was what came from it – an embarrassing showing of anger by teammates on the Lakers. Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard got into it on the bench and tempers were flaring.

Apparently, though, it was settled right then and there and nothing more will come from it.

“Oh, yeah. We squashed it right then and there,” said Howard during the Lakers postgame press conference. “We just had a disagreement about something that was on the floor. We’re both very passionate about winning. We didn’t wanna lose this game.”

“We’re grown men. Things happen. But we already talked. Squashed it. There’s no issue between me and him. That’s my brother. That’s what I told him. … We’re good. We squashed it. There’s no need to try to try to make it bigger than something else,” continued Dwight Howard.

Hopefully, this is true and the Lakers won’t have any more outbursts like this one. It is not a good look for the team or organization as a whole. That is not to say they don’t have some things to work on. They are still yet to win a game in the preseason or regular season. It would be impossible to say exactly what needs to be changed but it is clear that something is missing.

Vogel also talked about the altercation.

“When you’re getting your ass kicked, sometimes those conversations get heated,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said. “Those guys love each other. They talked it out. And that’s going to happen from time to time. I’d rather our guys care than not care.”
