Frank Vogel Reveals Harsh Reality DeAndre Jordan had to Accept in LA

Frank Vogel has revealed a harsh reality that DeAndre Jordan had to accept when playing with the LA Lakers. The Los Angeles Lakers are getting ready for the start of the NBA season. Their season opener is on October 20th against the Golden State Warriors. Many fans are interested to see what the Lakers will be able to do with their new roster. Both Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook signed with the Lakers during the off season.

Now, head coach Frank Vogel has come out with some interesting thoughts on DeAndre Jordan and what he had to give up when coming to LA.

“Everybody on this team knows coming into this group that whatever needs to happen for our team to win a championship, they have to be bought into that. That’s the minimum requirement for playing for the LA Lakers. And sometimes that does mean not playing. Everybody understands that…DJ has been nothing but a first-class attitude for everything that we’re trying to do and I think he’s on board with everybody else that whatever the team needs, that’s what they’ll be on board with.”

Carmelo Anthony also had some things to say about joining the Lakers and what role he can play.

“I don’t know, man. I had to adjust to that last year,” Anthony said when asked if he would start or come off the bench. “It was cool after I got my feet wet and understood what my role was gonna be on that team. It’s the same here.

“With this team, I kind of look at it like the USA Team,” Anthony continued. “There’s so much talent that you’ve got to figure out what works together, what doesn’t work together and how it works together, and how well it comes together. And again, at this point man, whatever we need to do, let’s do it. I can’t sit and be like ‘I want to start’ or ‘I want to come off the bench.’ Whatever it is, it is. I’ve had and experienced being a starter for 17, 18 years, and had the experience of coming off the bench for one year. So it’s not something I think about.”
