Frank Vogel Under Fire… Some Calling for Coaching Change

The Los Angeles Lakers won two straight games, but they lost the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They were without one superstar and players couldn’t stop Oklahoma City from overcoming a huge deficit. Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook didn’t stop the Thunder.  If you ask the big man, he will say that the Lakers should have won this one. LA is 2-3 at this point of the regular season and fans want Frank Vogel to change his tactic or leave the franchise.

The Lakers head coach is definitely under fire. Some fans don’t like the way he handles the gameplan.

“Vogel should be fired. You’re down 3 an you have Russ shoot a 3 to tie? RUSS?!!!!” tweeted one fan.

“I’m convinced Frank Vogel is against the Lakers winning,” added another.

“You got a team that don’t play defense and a coach who specialize in defense, horrible rotations and clueless on offense,” tweeted another fan. “Vogel is not the coach for this team. We ain’t winning the chip until they change the coach.”

Frank Vogel to make a change

Truth is, Lakers players struggled on the floor. They had a good lead and keeping the Thunder under control was supposed to be a piece of cake. It wasn’t. Russell is a good player and he came to LA to win. Was he the right player to hit those shots? Remember when Shaquille O’Neal called him a role player?

The front office made some changes and brought a bunch of veterans to Los Angeles Lakers. Sam Quinn from CBS Sports would blame them for the fact that the low start of the regular season

“GM Rob Pelinka went out of his way to bring back several friendly faces from the championship season, but they’ve largely aged out of any defensive utility, and the new faces he added to supplement them have, thus far, struggled mightily.”

Westbrook is not concerned about his fit in the team. He knows that players need time to develop great chemistry. He happens to be one of the most competitive players in the NBA right now.
