Lakers Legend Goes Off On Team For Wednesday Night Loss

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the game to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Fans and analysts agree that the Lakers could have won this one. Anthony Davis is convinced that his team had to beat the Thunder. Former Lakers star James Worthy watched the game and his reaction was expected. He appeared on SportsNet Live to discuss the Lakers loss and the struggles players had last night.

If you ask Worthy, he will say this was the worst loss he has ever seen.

“You have to finish the job, regardless of who you’re playing,” he said. “You cannot disrespect the worst team in the league. In fact, you make sure you put them away and let them know that they don’t have a chance.

“And I think the Lakers came out with that mentality, but I don’t know what happened. They kind of just disrespected these young guys… I don’t know, I’ve seen a lot of Lakers losses and this might be like the worst loss I’ve seen.”

There’s more. Worthy suggested that we should “put (the Lakers) on the Greyhound and let them drive back to L.A. and think about it.”

Lakers players have to overcome the loss and avoid similar mistakes

The Lakers legend wanted to see his former team finish the job. LA has huge potential and the roster is packed with talented veterans. What happened last night?

Lakers players had a 41-19 lead in the first quarter. Thunder players regained strength in the second quarter and scored 37 points. They were even more explosive in the third quarter, scoring 41 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hit 14 points in the final three minutes of the third quarter. Oklahoma City got the lead and LA missed three 3-point shots.

Worthy believes that Lakers players shouldn’t have disrespected the worst team in the NBA. I guess Thunder players were motivated and took advantage of the whole situation.

The Lakers will have to learn their lesson and use some of the advice they got today. Let’s hope that they will have a better game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
