Lakers Release Extensive Injury Report For Opening Night vs Warriors

The Lakers have released quite an extensive injury report ahead of the Lakers opening night clash against the Golden State Warriors. The Los Angeles Lakers season is finally about to start for real this time. They have been going through the preseason as of late but have not looked very impressive throughout. In fact, they failed to even win again in the preseason behind some bad play from newly acquired point guard Russell Westbrook.

Now the Lakers have released the injury report before their game with the Golden State Warriors. Most of the names should not come as a surprise for those who have been paying attention.

The Lakers are in need of some outside shooting so this injury report does hurt. Hopefully, they will be able to bounce back from this and pull out the victory in their opening game.

A lot of that will ride on the play of Russell Westbrook. He recently talked about what it meant to join the Lakers.

“Being from LA, you always wish that you could play for your home team,” Westbrook said. “That’s definitely something that always circled around in my mind. Maybe one day? But I always would come back and be like, ‘Ah, that probably won’t happen.’ I just had to wait and see. But now that we’re here, I’m going to take full advantage of it.”

“LeBron is one of the best players to play this game, and his ability to do everything on the floor allows me to just figure it out,” Westbrook said. “I’m coming to a championship-caliber team, and my job is to make his game easy for him, and I’ll find ways to do that. As it pertains to ball-handling, it really doesn’t matter. There’s many different ways you can impact the game without having the ball in your hands. I’ve been able to do that for a number of years, and we’ll figure it out.”

It will be fun to see the team out on the court again after a long off season. Hopefully, they can come out with a win.
