Latest Bill Belichick Comment About Player’s Absence Is Going Viral

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick knows how to drop a viral comment. The Patriots lost the game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they are now playing the Houston Texans. A couple of players will probably miss the game.

Coach Belichick didn’t share much information about absent players, and he was definitely in the mood today. During his press conference, the Patriots head coach joked at his expense.

This joke was related to the absence of offensive lineman Michael Onwenu and Isaiah Thomas. Belichick couldn’t provide an update on these two. As usual, reporters asked a lot of questions. Belichick didn’t ignore this one. He just didn’t have the answer to their questions.

“There’s obviously some questions there; I don’t even know the answer myself,” Belichick said. “I’m not trying to be evasive here – not that you would ever think that, [me] trying to be evasive.”

Bill Belichick goes viral again

Belichick? Joking? He always talks about his next game and no, you can never hear him talk about his private life or upcoming deals. Belichick keeps everything low and his players have accepted the same approach. They don’t like to talk about their off-field battles and the on-field struggles are always out.

When it comes to Onwenu and Wynn, the Patriots have already started their preparations for Houston with one side of the starting offensive line. Both players ended up on the COVID-19 reserve list. Field Yates from ESPN confirmed the information.

Fully vaccinated asymptomatic players can return to the field with two consecutive negative tests. Unvaccinated players who get COVID have to isolate for at least 10 days before having two consecutive negative tests.

Wynn played all 265 offensive snaps in the first four games of the regular season. Onwenu played 239.

Justin Herron, Yasir Durant, Yodny Cajuste, and Ted Karras stend on the active roster behind David Andrews, Shaq Mason, and Trent Brown.

The Patriots have Drake Jackson, Alex Redmond, James Ferentz, and Will Sherman on the practice unit.

How will the Patriots handle these absences? Let’s see what happens next.
