LeBron James Addresses on Possible Load Management Plan This 2021-22 Season

LeBron James has addressed a possible load management plan for the upcoming season which is set to start today. The Lakers season will tip off tonight against the Golden State Warriors and fans are excited to see the new roster in action. Hopefully, they will take the court a little more ready to win than they did in their preseason games. They failed to win a game in the preseason which caught the eyes of many fans of the Lakers.

One thing that has come up from time to time is LeBron James’ age and his ability to play in every game on the schedule. He recently came out with some interesting thoughts on this which is something that many people were questioning.

He was asked directly if he thought that load management would help him get through the season mentally and phsyically. As it turns out, LeBron James is not a big fan.

“No,” James answered with no question where his stance on the matter lies. “For one, I don’t play the game thinking about injuries. And also, I feel worse when I play low minutes.”

“It took a while,” James said after the team’s final practice of the preseason. “It took a while. I didn’t do much basketball stuff for probably like the first two months of the summer — which is very rare for me — because my ankle wasn’t responding how we would like for it to respond.”

“The best thing about the summertime is that I had time. We had time to really just give it an opportunity to get ready to where my ankle was ready to go,” James said. “I was always training. I wasn’t on the basketball court, but I was always doing other stuff, training, pushing and seeing things I could do with my ankle until I got to a point where I didn’t feel any sharp pains anymore, and my flexibility was back to where it was before.”

Frank Vogel also commented on it.

“We will be intelligent,” Vogel said. “Obviously you probably don’t want to have him play 82 games, but we’re not going to pre-script X amount of nights off. We’ll take it as it comes throughout the year.”
