LeBron James Shares 1 Main Factor That Will Make or Break the Lakers Championship Hopes

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off of a terrible season but this won’t shut down their championship hopes. The front office worked really hard to “fix” the roster and bring all the players LeBron James and Anthony Davis need to win another championship. They did it inside the NBA bubble. They will do it again. This time they have all the right players and that makes things easier for everyone.

One major factor may destroy the hopes for a championship win. It may also boost the same hopes.

Health.

Lakers players dropped to seventh seed in the Western Conference last season. LeBron and AD missed a lot of time due to injuries. Health is important and LA has a lot of veterans on the new roster. These guys have to be careful. Injuries can change the gameplan overnight.

“The ultimate goal is to obviously win a championship,” LeBron said, per ESPN. “And it starts with, obviously, health as the No. 1 thing. We’re excited to know that we’ve given ourselves another opportunity to be available to each other, and that’s what it came down to.”

Lakers have high championship hopes

Enter AD. The Lakers big man missed too many weeks last season. He struggled to make an impact as he wasn’t 100%. Of course, he missed important games and his teammates couldn’t beat the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.

“I’ve missed games in my career, but the Achilles missing 30, not being able to play at full strength in the playoffs against Phoenix, didn’t play Game 5, that didn’t sit well with me. So I made an emphasis on just taking care of my body and getting it back to what it was as far as strength-wise my first year here,” Davis said, per SB Nation. “That was my biggest focus this summer.”

Let’s hope that Lakers players stay healthy this season. They lost the preseason opener to the Brooklyn Nets, but LeBron, Carmelo Anthony, and Russell Westbrook weren’t playing. Will these guys stay healthy in the next few months? It’s time to win some games.
