Matt Judon Reveals Reasons Behind Historic Start To First Patriots Season

The New England Patriots did a really good job with the addition of Matt Judon and his historic start is the reason he is getting a lot of money. Judon had incredible performance in each and every game so far and we can definitely say he is one of the most valuable players on the current Patriots roster.

This productivity has impressed both players and coaches. Well, he is well aware of his great skills and football intelligence.

“I think I’ve put in the time,” the Pro Bowl edge rusher said. “I think I’m a smart player. And I think as well as myself, just the guys in that locker room. It’s really not me. I’m making the plays and all that stuff, but me and Josh (Uche), we talk about pass rush and tackle placements, all that stuff, as we watch film apart and then we bring it back together.

“And then the coaches, they’re making it kind of easy on me, just giving me hits, giving me tips, just giving me everything I need to make plays and play fast. Also, just some of my other teammates just leaning on me like, ‘I need you. I need you this play. I need you to come out and make a play.’ So I think just that helps me go out there and play fast and just be myself and just make those plays.”

Matt Judon to help the Patriots win more games following the historic start

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has great words for the talented player. Judon has a lot to offer and Belichick believes he will keep contributing to the game. Of course, Belichick believes there’s enough room for improvement.

“Matt’s an explosive player,” the head coach said Monday. “He’s certainly given us a number of significant plays. I think as he continues to work with his teammates and build communication and adjustments in the defense that it’ll continue to get better. I think that’s still an area that he’s — I wouldn’t say it’s deficient, but I think it will improve, and it has improved over the course of the year, and I think it will continue to do that. But he’s made a number of big plays. He’s strong, he’s fast, and he’s instinctive, so he’s got some good tools to work with.”

New England has a 2-3 record at this point of the regular season. Players will need to elevate their game in order to make the playoffs this time. Belichick won’t make the same mistake again.
