Rajon Rondo Shares His Expectations For Anthony Davis This Season

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t win games in the preseason but veterans are motivated to win games in the regular season. NBA analysts were confused mostly because the Lakers are coming off of a bad season. They were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. The team is packed with veterans and they were considered favorites to win the championship in the 2021-22 NBA season. Where did players do wrong? Well, head coach Frank Vogel didn’t play his top players throughout the entire preseason and made some calculations about the starting lineup. Players were in and out. One thing stands for sure. LA is winning this time. Rajon Rondo is more than convinced that LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the rest of the guys will finish the season with success.

Rondo came back to Los Angeles to win another ring with the team. He left the team last season only to return for another championship win. LA wanted his veteran experience and Rondo is a good fit. He has nothing but great words for Davis and fans can definitely agree with him on this one.

“My expectation for him this year is MVP,” Rondo told The Athletic’s Bill Oram. “Nothing less than MVP and a championship, and he’s a guy that can do it.”

Rajon Rondo and Anthony Davis will win a lot of games together

Davis didn’t play his best basketball last season. He wasn’t able to do so. The big man suffered bad injury mid-February and missed a few weeks. LeBron was on his own and the team went lower in the Western Conference. The four-time NBA champion got injured too and LA ended up in the play-in tournament. In 36 games with the Lakers, AD was averaging 21.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

The Lakers signed great players to work alongside Davis. Some of these veterans agreed to the veteran minimum to win their first ring. Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony sure want to win their first rings. These two haven’t won a title in their long NBA careers.
