Report: Two Patriots O-Linemen Officially Ruled Out For Texans Game

Two New England Patriots Offensive linemen have officially been ruled out for the Houston Texans game on Sunday. The Patriots are coming off of a tough loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady came back to New England for the first time since departing and put on a show. It was a close game that the Patriots just could not pull out.
Brady talked about the matchup in length.

“Everybody has protective feelings and emotions as friends and family members and that’s just part of being in sports,” Brady said Thursday. “You have a lot of people who, because they’re not out there, they want to protect, and it’s a very caring, loving thing that a lot of people do, but from my standpoint, I had a great time (in New England), but really, my focus has been trying to be the best I can be for this team, trying to go out and be a winning quarterback, to be a championship-level quarterback for this team and this organization because they certainly deserve it. I made a commitment to them and I want to live up to it.”

“He’s older, so he should be treated differently. And all the players, none of them would have cared that he was treated differently. I think that was such a Bill thing. He never evolved. So you can’t treat someone who’s in his 40s like they’re 20. It doesn’t work.”

Now, looking ahead to their next game. Bill Belichick talked about two Patriots linemen that have been ruled out for their next game. Right tackle Trent Brown (calf) and right guard Shaq Mason (abdomen) will not be playing in this week’s matchup with the Houston Texans.

“I think today will help clear some of that up,” Belichick said in a video conference. “But whoever has the opportunity, I’m sure they’ll make the most of it. I know the guys that didn’t practice are working as hard as they can to be ready to go, and the guys that did are likewise, preparing. And if they get an opportunity, I think they’ll be ready to play, too. We’ll see how it all plays out. I don’t know.”
