Russell Westbrook Reveals The One Thing That Blew His Mind in Big Win vs. Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs and it was a beautiful win for the purple and gold. Beating the Spurs motivated players to try even harder next time. They have another big game Wednesday night and you can bet they are ready for it. Veteran Russell Westbrook spoke his mind following last night’s win. Many would say Russell is the main villain, but the veteran would say he is competitive and willing to win.

Enter fans. NBA players were winning and losing games without any fans in attendance during the pandemic. The NBA changed the rules and teams can finally enjoy the support of their diehard fans. That’s exactly what surprised Westbrook during the game against the Spurs. A great number of fans accompanied the team for the road game. Westbrook is not used to having this many fans in the stands. Seeing all those people cheer on his team? It was crazy.

The Lakers were without LeBron James. He missed the game due to ankle soreness but the Lakers were able to win it. Westbrook played a big role in the win and fans were excited about his performance. Doubters said that Broddie would never fit in the team. Shaquille O’Neal called him a role player. Well, Westbrook’s 33-point performance busted it all. He finished the night with 10 rebounds and eight assists. Not bad for a “Role player,” huh? Will these stats make Shaq change his mind?

Lakers fans trusted Westbrook. They trusted General manager Rob Pelinka and his choice. Westbrook was the right player to come after LeBron James and Anthony Davis. His performance against the Spurs reminded doubters that he has a lot to offer. Lakers fans motivated him to do his best and we have one good reason to believe that the best is yet to come.

Lakers players were excited to see all those fans in the crowd. Malik Monk was equally excited. It was like a “home game.”
