The Reason Lakers Are Playing Anthony Davis vs Kevin Durant-less Nets in Preseason

The Lakers will be playing Anthony Davis and are going to be Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA preseason. In only a few weeks, the Lakers take the court against the Golden State Warriors. The game is set to tip off on October 20th and fans are ready to see the new team in action. The roster has quite a bit of change this season. With the addition of Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook, many are wondering how the roster will mesh together.

But the preseason is coming even sooner. They will soon be taking on the Brooklyn Nets without Kevin Durant. However, the Lakers are still planning on playing Anthony Davis.

Apparently, AD is ready to get back on the floor.

“AD didn’t finish the season,” Vogel said. “He finished in street clothes because of injury. He wants to get out there, so we’ll support him on that.”

Many people are wondering what the roster will look like now that Westbrook is here. Well, he had some words on that himself.

“Being from LA, you always wish that you could play for your home team,” Westbrook said. “That’s definitely something that always circled around in my mind. Maybe one day? But I always would come back and be like, ‘Ah, that probably won’t happen.’ I just had to wait and see. But now that we’re here, I’m going to take full advantage of it.”

“LeBron is one of the best players to play this game, and his ability to do everything on the floor allows me to just figure it out,” Westbrook said. “I’m coming to a championship-caliber team, and my job is to make his game easy for him, and I’ll find ways to do that. As it pertains to ball-handling, it really doesn’t matter. There’s many different ways you can impact the game without having the ball in your hands. I’ve been able to do that for a number of years, and we’ll figure it out.”
