There is a troubling situation that poses a serious threat to Bill Belichick’s reputation and Mac Jones’ health and development. There were some interesting things said about the whole Stephone Gilmore situation. Some people even pointed to the fact that Robert Kraft should take over as GM given what happened. But nothing has yet happened in that area and most likely, nothing will happen.
The Patriots were going into the season with what seemed like would be a very good offensive line. Unfortunately, that has not yet happened and it is threatening the health and development of Mac Jones and hurting Belichick’s reputation as a coach in the NFL.
It looks like the O line will now be undermanned going into the next game against the Houston Texans. Right now, they are suffering with injuries in that area.
Troubling Situation Poses a Serious Threat to Bill Belichick’s Reputation and Mac Jones’ Health and Development
Belichick talked about this.
“I think today will help clear some of that up,” Belichick said in a video conference. “But whoever has the opportunity, I’m sure they’ll make the most of it. I know the guys that didn’t practice are working as hard as they can to be ready to go, and the guys that did are likewise, preparing. And if they get an opportunity, I think they’ll be ready to play, too. We’ll see how it all plays out. I don’t know.”
It only takes a few hits in order to completely ruin a rookie’s progress and confidence. Hopefully the line can start doing their job and protect their QB. Right now, that is not what is happening.
Right now, it is not looking good. Here is what they have done so far:
Isaiah Wynn: 2 sacks, 5 hits, 2 holds, false start Yasir Durant: 4 sacks Justin Herron: 1 sack, 5 hits, hold Shaq Mason: 4 hits David Andrews: 4 hits Michael Onwenu: 2 hits, 2 holds Ted Karras: sack, hit
It will be interesting to see what they are able to do going forward but it sure is not looking very good right now. Do you think they will be able to catch up?
