Ty Law Blasts Patriots Defense For ‘Shameful’ Performance Vs. Cowboys

The New England Patriots had the chance to beat the Dallas Cowboys in overtime but they didn’t. It was their fourth loss for the team and Ty Law is not really happy with the Patriots defense.

The former cornerback didn’t have great words for the Patriots and actually criticized players during his appearance on “The Greg Hill Show.”

“I’m really upset about what’s going on,” the Hall of Famer said. “Because you don’t let people come in there and walk all over you, throw the ball like that anytime they want to. I mean, that’s shameful.”

Patriots players allowed 567 total yards and 445 passing yards and this is the highest number in Belichick’s time with the Patriots. Law has an advice for the team and maybe coaches will take it into consideration.

“Defense, they have to step up,” Law said. “I don’t know what’s going to happen in this offseason. I can tell you right now, if I had a vote, we’d be going first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth round — we’re getting all defensive guys and we’re going to get some wide receivers and running back in free agency, because something’s got to give with the defense.”

Ty Law wants to see more from Patriots players, defense

Enter J.C. Jackson. Law wants to see more from the talented player. Head coach Belichick will definitely agree with him on this one. Law wanted to see a different approach from Jackson but things took another direction.

“You have to have somebody that can cover,” Law said. “I mean, we were looking for Jackson to step up. He was playing pretty good football. But I didn’t want to pass him the mantle just yet when we’re talking about him compared to Stephon Gilmore. But you have to have guys in the back that can step up and make plays.”

Rookie quarterback Mac Jones did a decent job and coach Belichick motivated him to keep his head up and go back to winning games. Is this possible? Absolutely! Patriots players will have to beat their next opponent.
