Anthony Davis Has Stern Message to Lakers After LeBron James Ejection vs. Pistons

Anthony Davis has a stern message for the Lakers after LeBron James has an ejection against the Detriot Pistons. The Lakers were able to come out with the victory against the Pistons last night but the win definitely was not the biggest story. During the game, LeBron James accidentally elbowed Isaiah Stewart after a free throw. After this happened, a sort of brawl happened that involved both teams. LeBron James was ejected from the game for his part in the fight.

Anthony Davis had a simple message for his team going into the fourth quarter. He previously called this game a must win and they were able to pull out the victory. But not without quite a bit of adversity. The Lakers were facing quite the deficit going into the final quarter of the game.

Davis told his team that they needed to “come together” and find out “who we are as a team.”

Davis also explained LeBron’s side of the story.

“Everyone in the league knows LeBron’s not a dirty guy,” Lakers big man Anthony Davis said. “In fact, when he knew he hit him, as soon as he did it, he looked back at him like, ‘Oh, my bad. I didn’t try to do it.'”

“I don’t know what he was trying to do,” Davis said. “But I know nobody on our team, 1 through 15, was having it. We’re going to protect our brother. I’ve never, in 10 years, seen a player try to do that as long as I’ve been playing. … It’s uncalled for. You got a cut above your eye, accidental-like, it wasn’t on purpose. And we weren’t going to allow him to keep charging our brother like that. I don’t know what he was trying to do, but we wasn’t going to allow that.”

Frank Vogel also talked about what happened.

“[James] had an elbow [from Stewart] to the rib cage, which was a foul and he was trying to shed the contact,” Vogel said. “And had incidental contact that was obviously enough for a flagrant 2.”
