Bill Belichick Gives Typical Answer To Question About Quiet Trade Deadline

The New England Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick were really quiet ahead of the trade deadline. I guess coach B is happy with his current team. I mean, they are winning games, right?

The Patriots choose to keep their roster intact. A total of four trades took place in the NFL. Belichick likes his new team and this is actually good news. The Patriots made great moves in the offseason and also signed a good number of prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Belichick’s team will remain the same heading into the second half of the regular season. Wonder why? Belichick didn’t want to say a word. He is getting ready for the upcoming games against the Carolina Panthers.

“Just working on trying to get ready for Carolina,” the Patriots head coach said. “You’d have to ask the other teams that. I don’t know what they thought.”

Bill Belichick had a reason to be quiet ahead of the trade deadline

Some players can catch a breath of relief now. Jalen Mills, Joejuan Williams, and Myles Bryant are definitely winners at this point.

The Patriots lost Jonathan Jones to shoulder injury and Stephon Gilmore joined the Carolina Panthers. The cornerback position lacked depth. J.C. Jackson struggled with consistency, too. Many thought that Belichick would add another cornerback through a trade. Maybe they could’ve trade for Denver’s Kyle Fuller. This would have allowed Jalen Mills to move to the slot.

Belichick decided to stay put.

Yodny Cajuste and Yasir Durant are secure for now, too. Analysts thought that the Patriots would replace one of these two. They didn’t make a move and Cajuste and Durant were able to secure their job for the remainder of the season.

What about N’Keal Harry? The wide receiver shocked everyone with his request for a trade. He did want to stay with the Patriots and now he is “stuck” in New England forever.

Patriots entered the season with a loss. They beat the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers. The Carolina Panthers are next on the list. Belichick is getting ready for their opponent and that’s the only thing he is concerned about right now.
