Bill Belichick has higher salary than other coaches

Sportico has a new list and it’s making rounds on the Internet. Kurt Badenhausen released a list of the Highest-Paid Coaches in US Sports on Wednesday. He put Belichick on the top of his list. Believe it or not, the Patriots head coach earns an average annual salary of $18 million.

Badenhausen also wrote that Belichick’s 31 playoff wins are 11 more than any other coach in the NFL has ever had. Coach B trails Don Shula by 42 for most wins in the regular season.

There’s more. Belichick and his Patriots players won six Super Bowls in the last two decades. In other words, he is worth every penny to the organization.

NFL head coaches dominate Badenhausen’s list. Seattle Seahawks’ Pete Carroll gets $14 million and Sean Payton from New Orleans gets the same amount of money. Andy Reid from the Kansas City Chiefs gets $12 million.

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich earns $11.5 million each year and he is the first non-NFL head coach on this list.

NFL coaches take up 17 of the first 25 spots on this list. Basketball coaches have eight spots and it features zero baseball or hockey coaches.

Belichick and his current Patriots team look really good on the basketball court. They have won a few games in a row and now they are getting ready for the Atlanta Hawks.
