Dwight Howard Critical on What Doomed Lakers vs. Timberwolves

Dwight Howard was critical of what caused the Los Angeles Lakers to lose against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Lakers have been very poor to start this NBA season. In what looked like a good opportunity for the Lakers to prove that they were one of the best, the Lakers have struggled to win against some very bad teams. They have already lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder two times this season and now can add a loss to the Timberwolves.

There has been a lot of talk on what has caused the struggles for the Lakers. First, Anthony Davis talked about what happened. Now, Dwight Howard has chimed in as well.

“I think when we tend to allow things to happen on the floor, the mishaps, we get down on ourselves,” admitted the Lakers center. “We get down on our teammates – and it might show.”

“We have to keep our mindset positive,” continued Howard. “We know that every team we play is gonna come in and they’re gonna make crazy shots. They’re gonna play extra hard because they’re playing against us. So, we got to keep our energy the same throughout the game.”

It is definitely important to remember to stay positive for the Lakers. There is still plenty of time for them to bounce back. The roster has not had a lot of time to get it figured out and it is a completely new roster. If Russell Westbrook can start playing to his strengths, this could be one of the best teams in the league.

Davis also talked about the loss.

“We sucked,” Davis said after the game. “No defense. Can’t score. That’s not just this third quarter, it’s every third quarter we’ve played this season. We come out slow, lackadaisical offensively and defensively. We got to get it together. Why? I can’t tell you. But we got to do a better job.”

“We got to decide who we want to be. A championship team? That’s not us right now,” Davis said. “We’re not winning a championship the way we’re playing. We got to be better, and we got to care more for our wins at home. Wins in general. That was embarrassing.”
