Frank Vogel Reveals What Has Kept Carmelo Anthony Out of Lakers Starting Lineup

The Los Angeles Lakers have a few injured players on the roster, and the situation is a bit complicated at the moment. Of course, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has a lot of great players to work with and Carmelo Anthony is one of them. Melo is having a really good performance on the floor. He joined the Portland Trail Blazers and Melo used the best of his opportunity. It was time to move on, and he joined the Lakers to get his first ring. He got a chance to play with LeBron James and he is actually really great during games. Melo knew that the Lakers would give him a bench role. However, his performance is really great.

Vogel talked about Melo’s role, suggesting that he likes his performance from the bench. The Lakers need to replace some of their key players, but Melo won’t be a starter in the near future.

“Our crowd is amazing with him,” Vogel said. “They’re keeping him out of the starting lineup because of the energy we get when he checks in, is something that I don’t want to mess with. Obviously, there’s the temptation to move AD to the five, but I like what we’re getting with him coming off the bench. We just gotta continue.”

Melo is extremely efficient on the court and Vogel should consider using him in the starting lineup. LeBron will miss a few weeks and AD has sustained minor injuries, too. The Lakers have found a way to win games without LeBron, but they do lost a few in his absence. Vogel may consider making some changes to his gameplan and give Melo a bigger role. It’s a long season for the storied franchise and players will face great opponents. The Western Conference is packed with competitive players and the Lakers have a challenging schedule.

LeBron’s return is making some hot headlines and fans are a bit concerned about his absence. He is treating his body well and maybe he will return to game action sooner than expected. LA has a lot of veterans on the court and they all want to win games.
