Julian Edelman Names 1 Thing He Still Wants To See From Mac Jones

The New England Patriots decided to trust a rookie quarterback and the situation looks really good for the team. The Patriots are dominant right now and they look much better than the Buffalo Bills. What does that mean? They run the AFC East. Current and former Patriots players have praised the rookie and Julian Edelman had nothing but words of praise for Mac Jones.

Head coach Bill Belichick forced Jones and Cam Newton to take part in a quarterback competition in training camp. The first-round pick won and Belichick gave him the keys to the offense. Jones and his teammates entered the 2021 NFL season with two losses but they are in the middle of a five-game winning streak.

Julian Edelman respects Mac Jones

A lot of people follow the Patriots’ performance in the regular season. Edelman appeared on Pardon My Take to talk about Jones and his role on the field. The former Patriots wide receiver praised the rookie and he has an advice for Jones. Maybe Jones should consider revealing his tough side.

“You wanna see the toughness of a guy,” Edelman said. “We’re seeing how he can take in the offense and he can be an efficient quarterback. There’s gonna be times where it’s not always sunny. They’re going on a four-game winning streak … I wanna see him, that last bit to see if he’s their guy — and he’s their guy — but I wanna see something go wrong. And I wanna see the man he is in an adverse situation.

“Like, that’s when you see your best leaders. That’s when the Tom Bradys … when he goes out, in any situation when we were down a certain amount of points, you saw a laser focus in his eyes. And I wanna see it (from Jones). Everything looks great right now. He looks like a really good quarterback. He’s taking in the offense. He plays on time.”

Patriots players follow Jones’ pace. He enjoys the support from pretty much every teammate and coach in the organization. Jones is an incredible player and even better teammate.
