LeBron James Doubles Down on Shannon Sharpe’s Take on Officials

Four-time NBA champion LeBron James will always speak his mind even if it includes officials. NFL, NBA… LeBron will always call out certain individuals.

Shannon Sharpe discussed a recent situation revolving around a NFL referee. Yes, he took part in THE debate. Fun fact? He is not the only one!

Let’s dive into the situation. It happened in the game between Chicago and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh had a three-point lead nearing the end of the game. Bears linebacker Cassius Marsh had a crucial third-down sack on Ben Roethlisberger. This would have put the Steelers in a fourth-and-15 situation from their 46-yard line. Well, Marsh turned to face the Steelers bench, and referee Tony Corrente flagged him for taunting. There’s a video of the whole situation and everyone noticed that the referee stepped back into the Bears linebacker.

It was a rather confusing situation. Marsh says he wasn’t taunting, adding that he was “hip-checked” by the referee. The linebacker knows that if players do this, they’d definitely get kicked out of the game. They can also be suspended and fined for such inappropriate behavior.

Sharpe took to Twitter to voice his opinion. He wrote that the NFL “needs to suspend” Corrente.

LeBron James goes against officials

LeBron took notice of the comments Sharpe made and doubled down. He agreed with Marsh’s words and even added that teams may cut players if they pull out anything like this.

The NFL hasn’t made a statement on this incident. We don’t really see situations like this one on a daily basis. Marsh made a good point and most players will support him. His team lost the game but this whole situation is just too shady… Let’s see what happens next. Will the NFL investigate the situation and fine the referee? They shouldn’t go after Marsh. We could all agree on this one.

LeBron wouldn’t think twice before joining a loud discussion. He is always here to support disrespected players. This tweet is a clear remind that LeBron will always stand by those who need someone to support them.
