Malik Monk Delivers Serious Message On His Approach For Lakers This Season

Malik Monk has delivered a pretty interesting message on his approach to the Lakers season. The Los Angeles Lakers have not been very good to start the season. They started with a very poor showing in the preseason, failing to win any of their 6 games. It is clear that they have a lot to work on should they want to get to the NBA Finals this season. But there are still signs that they are talented enough to get there. First off, their roster on paper is one of the best in the NBA.

But many fans think that Russell Westbrook is not the fit that the Lakers needed this off season. He has struggled to get his footing on this new team and it is showing up in big ways. But one bright spot of the Lakers has been Malik Monk. He has been putting in the work and it is showing so far in the season. He recently gave a strong message on his approach to the season.

He talked about going back and forth with Tyler Herro.

“He’s a great player. He’s always knocking tough shots down and things like that, but I’m trying to kill everybody in front of me.”

“They always give me confidence, man. Whether I’m playing five minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, they always give me confidence. I’m always confident when I go in the game. I always kind of have the same mindset,” Monk said. “I just stay locked in and try to be prepared for every situation.”

“I wasn’t matching, man. I was playing basketball. He just happened to be on me,” Monk said. “He’s a great player, he’s always knocking tough shots down and things like that, but I’m trying to kill everybody in front of me.”

“I’m always comfortable playing basketball, but yeah, it’s kind of hard to play. I’ve never played with this many greats,” Monk said. “You’ve got to pick your spots and figure out when the game is going to come to you.”

“They’re great, so they’re always going to help me in every situation, so I’m super comfortable,” Monk said.
