Patriots’ JC Jackson Expresses Interest In Re-Signing As Free Agency Looms

The New England Patriots have a great player in JC Jackson and he is already planning his free agency. Jackson is a key player for the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick would love to keep him around for a while. In his video conference Jackson talked about his plans for the future.

“I love playing for the New England Patriots, playing under Coach (Bill) Belichick,” he said. “I have grown as a football player since I’ve been here. It’s a place that gave me a chance from Day 1. I would love to be a New England Patriot for a long time.”

Jackson joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent. Patriots coaches found the best way to use his insane skills. Getting him was a bold move, and Jackson proved everyone right. He is an exceptional player with crazy skills.

JC Jackson to get a lot of money in free agency

The talented player will soon enter free agency. He is having another great season, meaning he is ready to take a large amount of money. NFL teams would be willing to pay him big cash as Jackson leads the NFL in passes defended and ranks first in passer rating when compared to other cornerbacks.

Albert Breer from The MMQB reported that the Patriots showed interest in extending Jackson’s deal ahead of the regular season but didn’t reach an agreement.

“(I)n the offseason, when there were contract discussions between the Patriots and Jackson’s camp, I’m told the divide was so significant between the sides that the talks died right there on the vine — and no one bothered to counter the other’s contract ideas,” Breer explained. “The feeling at the time was that Jackson was eyeing every dime he could clean off the table as a 2022 free agent and, as well as he’s played this year, I’d guess his goals would remain.”

Jackson is not too burdened with his free agency. He is more interested in winning a championship with the Patriots.

“I’m a football player, I’m not an agent,” Jackson said. “So when it comes to negotiating contracts, I’ll leave that up to my agent. I’ll let them deal with that stuff, and I’ll just focus on football. That’s how I look at it. That’s how I control the situation.”
