Report: Browns To Release Odell Beckham Jr., Making Patriots Fantasy Possible

The Cleveland Browns have been struggling and are going to release Odell Beckham Jr. which could make the Patriots dream come true. Apparently, Odell and Baker Mayfield are not getting along too well. This has led to Beckham Jr’s father taking to social media. Baker Mayfield talked about this.

“I can’t exactly speculate exactly as to who he was speaking on behalf of. We think a lot of it comes from his father’s perspective. I think you know obviously naturally he wants his son to succeed. And I can’t blame him for that. I want Odell to succeed. That is where we were or at least so I thought. That is all I really have about that one.”

“He is extremely close with Odell. Like I said earlier, we all want to see O succeed. There is no doubt about that. We are just going to take it one day at a time. We did not get into too many details because I do not want to draw that line in between them at all. That is not what I am trying to do. Jarvis wants to win just as badly as I do. Those are the types of guys and the types of focus that we need to have right now.”

Now, some are wondering what this could mean for the Patriots. Well, it could be possible but will be complicated.

Odell talked about his time in Cleveland.

“Film. We watch the film. We talk about it. I talked to him after the game. I talked to him Monday after meetings. Played (Call of) Duty with him on Tuesday,” he laughed. “We talk all of the time you know. Anybody who is great and expects greatness out of themselves is going to be upset when they miss an opportunity. He wants to be great. I want to be great. Yeah, we want perfection. We want the best, but it happens.”

If his release goes through, he will become a free agent. Could he come to the Patriots? Well a few questions come up. Is Bill Belichick even interested in a declining Beckham? Is Beckham interested in playing with a rookie QB? Only time will tell.
