Watch: New Angle Of Mac Jones Ankle Grab Adds Context To Controversial Play

There is a new angle of Mac Jones grabbing an ankle that sheds new light and context to the controversial play as a whole. The New England Patriots are coming off their third win in a row and beat the Carolina Panthers. They are looking much improved compared to what they looked like at the beginning of the season. It is clear that they have been working on things and it is showing in their play on the field.

But now some questions are arising on whether Mac Jones made a dirty play against the Carolina Panthers in week 9 of the NFL season. There is a video that shows Jones trying to grab a linebacker’s ankle. Many think that he was purposely trying to injure this player. But a new camera angle seems to tell a different story.

Haasan Reddick talked about the play after the game. He had a different story.

“I definitely thought it was a dirty play,” Reddick told reporters postgame. “I actually saw and witnessed the play as it was happening, as I was running, him seeing them over there. First of all, he was trying to trip or kick Burns, and then next thing you notice, I saw him tugging on Burns’ ankle. I thought it was completely dirty. Hopefully, it’s something that the league addresses.”

“I think it was surprising to not see that a penalty was called,” he said. “It seems like they’re always protecting the offensive players. Where is the protection for the defensive players, as well? I don’t know. I felt like that was a call that shouldn’t be missed. I’m going to speak out on it, whatever the consequences. However the referees feel, that’s how they feel.”

“But it looked completely intentional from where I was standing — and I was pretty close — and I don’t think that’s a call that should have been missed.”

The new camera angle makes it look pretty much like a normal football play. It didn’t really seem like an egregious play by Jones.
