Another Lakers Player Enters Safety Protocols, Out vs Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without Trevor Ariza in the next period because he entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols. According to the team, Ariza won’t join players in their game against the San Antonio Spurs. The situation doesn’t look good at all. Ariza made his debut with the Lakers a few days ago and he is out again.

The talented veteran didn’t have much luck this season. Injuries, COVID-19… What’s next on the list?

The Lakers are already without Austin Reaves, Malik Monk, Avery Bradley, and Kent Bazemore. LeBron James had a short stay on the COVID list but he cleared protocols right away. His positive test was nothing but a big misunderstanding.

LeBron and Carmelo Anthony are the only available forwards at the moment. NBA analysts believe that Talen Horton-Tucker will see more time on the wing in the next few games.

The Lakers had a chance to sign replacement players. The NBA has updated its protocols so prevent further cancellations.

According to a memo released Sunday, NBA teams can sign a replacement player for each positive player. In other words, if a team has six positive players, it can sign five replacement players.

NBA teams have to bring in at least one new player if they have two positive players.

Many Lakers players entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols

The most recent outbreak has caused an avalanche of changes in the league. Coaches struggle to keep their lineup sharp. The situation in LA was a little more complicated as Frank Vogel had to enter safety protocols too. David Fizdale replaced him on the sidelines.

Monk and many other players want to be freed from isolation. A lot of players have expressed discontent with their situation.

LA will play the final game before the name change of their arena. Staples Center will enter history as the “House Kobe Bryant built.” This will probably motivate players to try even harder and win this game. Truth is, they have to win more games this season. The Lakers should definitely work on their performance if they want to improve their standings.
