LeBron James Reacts to Lakers HBO Series Amid Rumors of Controversy

Four-time NBA champion LeBron James is definitely watching the Lakers HBO series titled Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. Fans got really excited about the idea of learning more about their favorite team. Everyone would love to go through each stage of development. Unlike a bunch of NBA names, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron likes the whole concept.

He took to his Twitter account to share his reaction.

Adam McKay signs as producer and fans will get to watch the series in March of 2022.

LeBron James won’t get much support about the HBO series

LeBron’s positive comments lead us to all the blasting comments people made. Moreover, some would even say that LeBron is in trouble for sharing his excitement online.

According to Matthew Belloni of Puck, the Lakers hate the show.

“And it’s absolutely true that the Buss family, the Lakers leadership, its 80s-era players, and the NBA in general all absolutely hate this show,” Belloni wrote.

He added that the front office doesn’t like the way this series represented the image of Jerry Buss.

“None of those people are making any money off this, which might explain some displeasure—and the fact that Jeanie Buss, Jerry’s daughter and the team’s controlling owner, has set up her own behind-the-scenes Lakers project with Mindy Kaling at Netflix. But they also feel HBO and McKay have taken real people and turned them into a fictionalized ‘80s version of Entourage or Ballers. According to someone who’s seen the pilot, it’s raunchy, filled with drugs and womanizing, and it is said to portray Buss as a misogynist party boy. (Reilly may or may not wear a prosthetic p***s to accentuate Buss’s “bulge”; one person told me that, but I didn’t confirm it, and I didn’t really want to spend my time that way.)”

Does this make sense?

Abdul-Jabbar doesn’t like the series. He believes that the “Story of the Showtime Lakers is best told by those who actually lived through it.”

Deborah Morales, his manager, destroyed the whole idea. Morales is convinced that the show will be a failure, adding that no one will accept it.
