Patriots’ David Andrews Has Seen This Change In Mac Jones This Season

The New England Patriots decided to trust their rookie in the 2021 NFL season. Patriots coaches have seen great change in Mac Jones. Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has been working with Jones for a few months and he really likes the rookie.

David Andrews talked about Jones’ change during his video conference earlier today. He is well aware of Jones’ potential and really respects the love he has shown for the game.

“I think he really loves football, and I think that’s a big thing,” Andrews said. “Because it is a long season. It’s a grind. I think you have to love the game of football, especially in a place like (New England) at times. You’ve got to love the preparation and all the things that go into it. I think he definitely does, and (he’s) seeming to have more fun and things like that.

“I think that’s something you do when you get older and start progressing: starting to have more fun and just being able to take a breath a little bit here and there. Remember what it was like being a rookie.”

A big change the game will help Mac Jones win

Jones may be a rookie, but he is doing an excellent job on the field. He led the Patriots to a 9-5 record at this point of the regular season. New England looks well on the field despite their latest loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Andrews has watched Jones develop into a top dominant player on the field.

“He’s done everything we’ve asked of him, and I just can’t say enough about him,” Andrews said. “I’m glad he’s on our team and hopefully get to work with him for a long time.”

Jones faced a huge challenge in his very first season in the league. He played against Tom Brady and a bunch of great teams in the NFL. Belichick has seen great potential in his game, and we have a few good reasons to believe that Jones will be the Patriots quarterback of the future.
