Patriots Get Brutally Honest on Mac Jones Recent Struggles

The New England Patriots lost two straight games, but they won’t admit that rookie quarterback Mac Jones struggles during games. The Alabama product is having a spectacular rookie season. He gave the Patriots a 9-4 record before losing games to the Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills. His team lost two games in a row and doubters place the blame on Bill Belichick’s first rounder.

If you ask offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, he will say that Jones went through each and every stage of a common rookie campaign. Jones has found his groove and he is doing a good job on the field. McDaniels praised his performance and also talked about his regimen. According to him, Jones is taking a really good care of his body.

“He’s doing fine, no concern on that. Each rookie kind of handles that differently. There’s always a stretch during the course of the middle of the season that’s a little bit new to him, because when you count the preseason games, preseason work, starting in July, usually that happens somewhere towards the end of October, middle of November, somewhere in there. But he’s gotten through that. He understands what he needs to do. He does a great job with his regimen, takes care of his body, his preparation. He’s learned how to manage his time and what he needs to allocate it towards, and I think that’s a really important thing for a young player.”

Mac Jones is winning games despite his struggles

The Patriots have two games on their schedule and they really need to win, otherwise they may miss the chance to win the championship this season. The team didn’t make the playoffs in 2020. It’s time for a change and Jones is here to make it happen. Belichick trusted him for a reason.

Jones is a talented rookie who defeated a former MVP in training camp. He is a good fit for the Patriots and we have at least one good reason to believe that Jones is the franchise quarterback for the team. Let’s see what happens by the end of this season.
