Report: Mac Jones Files For Tom Brady-Esque Trademark

Mac Jones is trying to make a name for himself and now has already made a move to get his own trademark. Bill Belichick’s rookie seems to be doing an excellent job. Playing with the Patriots is a really good option for every young player, but Jones decided to take the whole thing even further. He is setting up a personal brand based off his initials and the jersey number he has with the Patriots.

Darren Rovell from ESPN was among the first to report the news. According to him, Jones has filed to trademark “MJ10” as a wordmark to use on “beanies, hats, pants, shirts, shoes, socks, sweaters, sweatpants, tank-tops, athletic jackets, athletic shirts, athletic shorts, athletic sweaters, long-sleeved shirts, long jackets.”

Mac Jones to get his trademark

One can’t ignore the similarity to the move Tom Brady made in the past. Oh things are getting ready interesting. Head coach Belichick brought Jones as a replacement for Brady and his rookie is heading into the right direction. Brady turned “TB12” into his personal brand. It’s used as logos on gear and yes, the well-known TB12 Sports. The former Patriots quarterback built a full-fledged physical therapy mini-empire.

Jones is 23 and he is too young to make such a big move. There’s plenty of time and Jones can make similar business decisions as his predecessor. One thing stands for sure. Maybe he just wants to have his own branding on sports gear.

Patriots players are pretty interested in filing a trademark. Linebacker Matthew Judon filed a trademark for a silhouette of his sack celebration to use on apparel.

Belichick’s first-rounder has a shoe deal with NOBULL. They have a “Mac Jones’ Training Essentials” section on their website.

Jones is having a really good season with the Patriots. His team is having a 8-4 record at this point and they have a chance to beat the next few opponents. The Buffalo Bills are next on the list. Jones is on his way to seal himself on the throne. He is a really good rookie…
