Lakers Announce Newly Updated Timetable For Anthony Davis Return From Injury

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel provided an update on the timetable for Anthony Davis and his return from injury. The big man sustained a MCL sprain in the December 17 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was set to miss an entire month. Having him re-evaluated brought hope to many Lakers fans. Now we have another update on his return.

Latest reports from ESPN’s David McMenamin suggest that the Lakers big man may join his teammates right after being re-evaluated by Lakers team doctors. They will re-evaluate Davis early next week. What does that mean? He may suit up for the games by the end of the week.

The Lakers have a timetable for Anthony Davis and his return

McMenamin reported that Davis has already participated in individual on-court workout on Friday. The front office is really confident about Davis’ return. Everyone is really excited about this opportunity. Having Davis back is a big deal, right? The Lakers tried to stay afloat in Davis’ absence.

Anthony Davis participated in an individual on-court workout on Friday, four weeks to the day since spraining the MCL in his left knee,” McMenamin wrote. “There is optimism within the Los Angeles Lakers organization that the star big man could return to game action sometime during L.A.’s long road trip at the end of the month, sources told ESPN.”

Davis has a key role for the Lakers. He was out for too long. LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and the rest of the guys on the Lakers roster tried hard to make things work but they have a 21-21 record at this point. That’s not impressive. NBA veterans joined the Lakers for a reason. They all came to LA to win a ring just because the Lakers looked like champions. Let’s hope Vogel and Pelinka find ways to upgrade the roster and win more games.

The Lakers have been linked to many players and some of them would be a good fit for the team. It’s a long season after all and LA can still regain full control. They rank seventh in the Western Conference.
