Lakers’ Carmelo Anthony Reveals Exchange With Heckler
Carmelo Anthony attracted everyone’s attention with his exchange with one heckler. Fans crossed the red line this time and some of them had to leave the arena.
In the fourth quarter of the night, Melo was walking across the court and had an unpleasant encounter with fans. The Lakers veteran has no issues with hecklers and angry fans, but this was just too much.
“It is what it is,” Anthony said. “Some things was said, unacceptable. Yes I’m cool with fans heckling, fans talking trash, cheering for their team or the other team. I’m all for that, but when you cross certain lines, as a man that’s what you’re gonna see, that’s what you gonna get. I’m sure the people that’s in charge will take care of it. My job is done when it comes to this.”

Carmelo Anthony handled the exchange with the heckler like a pro
Lakers head coach Frank Vogel supported his player. This behavior is unacceptable. Vogel said that, “there’s gotta be a higher standard and hopefully that’s handled the right way.”
Frank Vogel on courtside incident between Carmelo Anthony and fans: “Unacceptable language and unacceptable behavior by fans, is the simplest way to put it. There’s gotta be a higher standard and hopefully that’s handled the right way.”

Lakers veteran Russell Westbrook couldn’t agree more. He knows that Melo wouldn’t pop without a reason. The fan definitely crossed the red line. Melo reacted like this for a reason.
Melo wouldn’t do anything other than this. He will just let people handle the matter like they are supposed to.
“That’s not up to me. I’m not in control of that. Sometimes you play through it, you try to play through certain things, you play through the heckle, but that’s all fun and games,” Anthony said. “I’ve been doing that for 19-20 years. Especially coming here, it’s been a great place to come and play and I know how the fans are here. But there are just certain things you don’t bring to any type of sporting event, just certain things you don’t say to anybody. If I was outside, I bumped into you, you said those things to me, then it would be a totally different story. But again, It’s out of my hands now. So however they want to play it, they will play it.”
