LeBron James Gives 9-Word Reaction to Anthony Davis Return

LeBron James really wanted Anthony Davis to return to the basketball court. Well, the big man is finally back and he is ready to lead his team to many wins. That’s exactly what happened last night. The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Brooklyn Nets. LeBron was more than happy to see his buddy around and his postgame statement says it all.

“Just his presence is an impact for our ballclub,” LeBron told the media.

Davis sustained a MCL strain on December 17 and hasn’t seen any action in the last few weeks. His last MRI came back negative and Davis was able to see contact workout with his teammates. The Lakers listed him as questionable for the game against the Miami Heat. He didn’t play, of course. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel didn’t even expect to see Davis on the floor.

A lot of things changed in the last few days. Davis showed great improvement and the Lakers listed him as probable for the game against the Nets. We all know what that means. Davis joined his teammates and LA won.

In the game against the Nets, AD played just 25 minutes and hit just eight points, two rebounds, and two assists. His stats weren’t really wild, but everyone would agree that Davis’ presence was more than helpful. His teammates were motivated to win and Davis was there to share their motivation.

Davis has a key role with the Lakers and he really earned his contract extension in the offseason. Although some say the Lakers should move on from their big man, Davis is not going anywhere. When healthy, he is one of the most dominant players in the NBA. Hopefully, he will be able to stay healthy and avoid serious injuries. Both he and LeBron missed a lot of games in the 2020-21 NBA season. The four-time NBA champion missed time again this season, but he still plays elite basketball. His stats are great and he is here to lead his team to the championship.
